‘Grey crumbling pavements are letting the town down’

A resident has claimed “shabby” pavements in Alsager have made her walks into the town centre “depressing”.
Speaking at last Tues-
day’s meeting of the town council’s Finance, Policy and Governance Comm-
ittee, Sylvia Dyke, of Woolaston Drive, told councillors that she did have a “positive attitude towards the town”, and added that she liked Alsager and believed it had “many things going for it”, but said that “at the moment walking into town was an “abysmal experience due to the standard of the roads”.
She told councillors: “I do manage to evade the potholes but the end of kerbs, where the white lines are, are actually crumbling away every way I walk.”
