Hockey club celebrates opening of sports hub

A local hockey club that has played its first matches at Alsager’s new sports hub said it was “determined to make the most of this wonderful legacy”.
The hub has been built on the former Manchester Metropolitan University campus off Dunnocksfold Road, after AFC Alsager and Triton Hockey Club successfully fought a long campaign, backed by Congleton MP Fiona Bruce and Sport England, to ensure that a substantial sports legacy remained on the site.
David Wilson Homes North West is currently constructing 435 houses at the former campus location.
Triton was “delighted” to welcome the 2019/20-hockey season by moving to its brand new pitch at the Alsager Sports Hub.
