Hospice shop theft witness ‘felt blood boil’
A woman who witnessed thieves targe-ting the Douglas Macm-illan’s charity shop in Alsager said she “felt her blood boil”, as her late mother had been cared for at the hospice.
Sally Hibbert, (43), of Alsager, was in the Lawton Road branch when she spotted a woman stealing clothes, while another kept a shop volunteer distracted.
Ms Hibbert told the Chronicle that a “stocky” woman in her late 50s came into the shop with a black bin bag full of clothes for the charity just after 11am on Tuesday, 23rd April.
The woman handed the bag over to the volunteer behind the counter before asking for the black bin bag to be returned.
