Levy couldn’t be adopted until local plan approved

Developers could soon be charged by the square metre when building houses and commercial property, if a new levy is introduced in 2019.
Although legislation for the Community Infrastructure Levy, which could net up to £35m in the next decade for infrastructure, came into force in 2010 it could only be considered by Cheshire East Council after its delayed local plan had been adopted.
