Market fears it could lose out to wedding bookings
An artisan market is happy that the Alsager Civic has altered the hiring conditions but is still concerned it will get “kicked out for a wedding”.
Jo Dale, owner of the Olive and Stitch Market, told the town council earlier this year that her main concern was the cancellation of her May booking to accommodate a wedding function.
An in-depth report on the terms and conditions for hiring the Civic was discussed at last Monday’s Civic and Services Committee along with the potential financial impact for both regular users and the Civic itself, should others want to use the venue on the same day as regular events.
