Martial arts classes help keep kids of the streets
A martial arts group in Sandbach, which aims to teach young people about respect and discipline, has found a permanent home in the town.
Lesley Powell has been running the freestyle karate lessons in Sandbach for children up to 12-years-old for two years at various locations. The sessions will now be held permanently at the Scout Hut on School Lane, Elworth.
Miss Powell lives in Sandbach town centre and said that she witnessed a lot of young people “causing trouble”. She believes the classes can help prevent kids from causing anti-social behaviour and encourages them instead to channel it into something productive.
