Play areas group could be ‘top heavy’ with councillors
Too many councillors on a working group set up to help improve Alsager’s parks and play areas could deter residents from becoming involved, it has been claimed.
The Play Area and Open Spaces Working Group was set up by Alsager Town Council earlier this year to be made up of two councillors and six members of the public.
The council represe-ntatives are Conservative Jane Hearne and Labour councillor Jo Dale.
But at the end a debate on the issue that lasted almost an hour during the town council meeting last Tuesday, it was decided that up to six councillor could be on the group, despite concerns that it could become too “top heavy” with them.
