Policing of Remembrance parade could be scrapped
Two thousand pou-nds has been set aside by Alsager Town Council to help in the organisation of road closures for this year’s Remembrance parade, should Cheshire Police cut its funding.
David Keane Cheshire’s police and crime commissioner sent a letter to the town council regarding policing Remembrance parades in the county.
It followed “significant community concern” about the policing of the parades and ceremonies in Cheshire.
Mr Keane said the concerns had been raised with the constabulary directly and with him when he attended community events.
