‘Restore quarry before development begins’

The restoration of White Moss Quarry should be prioritised, councillors have said, after agreeing that a bond of surety had expired.
Sylvia Dyke, of Woolaston Drive, a long time campaigner for the quarry’s restoration, spoke at last Tuesday’s Alsager Town Council meeting of Planning, Environment and Community Committee about how there had been years of uncertainty surrounding the legal bond in relation to the quarry, where hundreds of houses are due to be built.
