Warning that brook won’t cope with surface water
A resident has called on councillors to put a “picture” together of the impact develop-ments will have on Alsager as concerns grow part of the town could become overde-veloped and a flood risk.
Speaking at last Tuesday’s meeting of Alsager Town Council’s Planning, Environment and Community Comm-ittee, Sylvia Dyke was worried about the volume of surface water going into the Valley Brook.
She said that to the north of the B5077 main road through Alsager are numerous housing develop-ments under construction, which Mrs Dyke claimed the impacts of which had not yet been seen.
Developments at Close Lane, Rhodes Field and White Moss Quarry all drain under the road and into the Valley Brook.
