Water quality for mere fish is questioned
Calls have been made for the water supply at Alsager Mere to be checked after concerns about fish deaths.
The Riparian Association, which represents residents whose homes surround the beauty spot, contacted Alsager Town Council to seek answers about the water quality.
Correspondence from the group stated: “There is some concerns about the water in the mere that maybe responsible for the death of a lot of fish that were found in the autumn.”
The group said residents were aware of the overflow system that was installed by the town council at the bottom of Coronation Gardens, Sandbach Road North.
