Action group vows to keep 93 bus running
An action group has been set up with the aim of preventing any future plan to axe a local bus service that “combats loneliness and social isolation”, as the council vowed to continue funding it for as long as possible.
The 93 bus, which links Biddulph Moor and Gillow Heath with Biddulph, runs four times a day. It was due to be scrapped by the county council in March last year as part of a cost-cutting bid. In a “highly unusual” move, Biddulph Town Council agreed at the beginning of this year to up the precept by more than £50,000 to keep the bus.
