‘Biggest development’ for village has been refused
A planning application for “the biggest development Rushton Spencer has ever seen” was refused because of traffic, environment and visual concerns.
Staffordshire Moorlands District Council’s Planning Committee voted to reject the proposal after receiving six letters of objection from residents and further objections from Rushton Parish Council.
The application, by a Mr J Hallam, sought outline permission for the construction of up to nine new houses on land to the rear of Jim Hallam Land Rovers on Macclesfield Road. The development would have been accessed via Tanhouse Lane.
