Bottle refill project aims to reduce use of plastics
A new water bottle refill project is planned for Biddulph as the town looks to continue its commitments to the environment.
At a meeting last Tuesday, members of Biddulph Town Council agreed to support the Refill Project, a nationwide scheme that encourages people to cut down on their use of disposable plastic bottles.
Businesses will be encouraged to display a sticker in their window indicating they have registered as a refill point, meaning people will be able to refill their bottle with tap water there for free.
An app can be downloaded to locate nearby refill points, and it is hoped the scheme will also result in increased footfall for local businesses.
