Breath tested on school run
A woman stopped by police while on the “school run” was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving after a breath test apparently showed she was four times over the legal limit.
The 39-year-old woman was stopped by officers on Friday while collecting her children from a Biddulph school.
Police said a roadside breath test recorded a reading of 160mcgms of alcohol per 100mls of breath. The legal limit is 35mcgms per 100 mls.
It is not yet known where the woman is from or where she was stopped.
Moorlands Police confirmed on Saturday via Twitter that the woman was taken into custody.
They said: “A 39-year-old female was arrested on the school run in Biddulph and blew 160 at the roadside and 140 at custody.”
The woman was released on bail while police make further enquiries.
