Brown Edge legal challenge unlikely
There may be “insufficient grounds” to launch a legal challenge against planning permission granted for a new housing development in Brown Edge, a councillor has indicated.
The Chronicle reported in June that Staffordshire Moorlands District Council’s Planning Committee had voted in favour of granting outline planning permission for a residential development and wildlife pond off Sytch Road.
At the time, residents called the decision “a travesty” due to the “tremendous diversity of plants and species” present on the development’s site, with Brown Edge Parish Council holding an extraordinary meeting, attended by 30 members of the public, to discuss how to fight the plans.
