Deaf schoolgirl (8) dances into national second place
A young Biddulph dancer finished second at a national tournament, despite being completely deaf.
Eight-year-old Lucie Heathcote trains as part of the competition squad at Shaftesbury Dance Studios in Congleton, and has been dancing since she was three.
Being born profoundly deaf meant Lucie could not hear at all at first. However, she gained access to hearing when she was successfully given cochlear implants at 16 months old, and has made the most of her new ability through her love of dance.
