‘Go easy with the strimmer to spare wildlife’: campaigner

A wildlife campaigner has appealed for Biddulph’s gardeners to be “wildlife friendly” with the onset of good weather.
Carol Nixon, of Halls Road, has asked those who are planning a spring-clean of their home and garden to bear in mind the effects they may have on the area’s wildlife and their habitats.
She pointed out the importance of maintaining spaces for birds, frogs, slugs, spiders and other creatures to enjoy over the summer months, and warned against the dangers of using chemicals and strimmers when gardening.
