‘Hidden carers’ can seek help from support hub
Support is available in Biddulph for “hidden carers” of all ages who may feel isolated or overwhelmed while looking after a family member.
The Carers Hub has offered free help and advice to adult and young carers in the area since 2015, commissioned by Stoke-on-Trent City Council, Staffordshire County Council and the NHS.
Caz Gotham, activities coach for the hub, wants to raise awareness of the support available to carers, many of whom may not fully understand the role they have had to take on and its challenges.
A monthly club in Biddulph is one of many across the county that runs activities and talks for carers who are often in need of support, or even just a break.
