High school’s online safety advice after ‘Momo’ hoax
Biddulph High School has posted information on how parents can keep their children safe from the online character “Momo”.
The creepy, bug-eyed doll figure has made national headlines in recent weeks following allegations that it became the face of challenges that encouraged children to self- harm.
The character was said to have contacted young children on social media before presenting them with violent images and dares, although leading children’s charities have recently described the reports as a hoax, saying there have been no reported cases of self harm due to Momo.
Schools across the country have issued warnings to parents explaining how to keep their children safe online, including Biddulph High.
