Knitting together to help the homeless
Biddulph knitters are using their hobby to help a good cause by donating the blankets they have created to a local homeless shelter.
The group of friends has been meeting weekly for several months in order to work on the blankets, and will soon be handing them in to The Macari Centre homeless shelter in Stoke-on-Trent to help rough sleepers keep warm as winter draws nearer.
Marea Shaw, (85), who has enjoyed knitting in her spare time for almost her whole life, hosts the knitting sessions at her home on Congleton Road.
