‘Limited interest’ indication about plans for homes
Plans to build hundreds of houses on greenbelt land in Biddulph may only be met with “limited interest” from developers, the district council has said after receiving the latest advice from a commercial property agency.
The details on proposals to build almost 600 homes near Wharf Road and Tunstall Road were noted at a meeting of Staffordshire Moorlands District Council’s Service Delivery Overview and Scrutiny Panel last Wednesday, as the authority looks to move forward with its local plan in order to meet housing targets.
The current plans’ preferred options would see 471 dwellings, a discount supermarket and a retail and employment area built on the Wharf Road site, as well as an additional 105 dwellings and 16 industrial units marked for Tunstall Road.
