MPs’ language in Parliament ‘must not trickle down’
The “inflammatory language” of MPs in the House of Commons must not be allowed to trickle down into town halls, Biddulph’s councillors have said.
They have branded MPs’ behaviour “despicable” and “completely inapp-ropriate” following their return to Parliament after the Supreme Court’s ruling that Boris Johnson’s decision to prorogue the House was unlawful.
Councillors have empha-sised the need for local authorities to “focus on getting things done” rather than making the kinds of “personal attacks” they observed from their Westminster counter-parts.
