Market funding ‘doesn’t seem to be a fair share’
Biddulph still isn’t getting “a fair share” in market funding, councillors have claimed.
The claims were made after Staffordshire Moorlands District Council’s annual funding for Biddulph’s Artisan Market was revealed as £2,000, the same allocation it was given last year despite a recent agreement to support the market more fairly.
The update came at a meeting of Biddulph Town Council’s Town and Community Committee last Tuesday, and followed a long-standing debate over whether the town was being fairly allocated funding for its markets in comparison to Leek and Cheadle.
