Mayor refutes ‘nasty’ council meetings claim
Local councillors are “thoughtful and reas-oned”, Biddulph’s may-or has said in response to recent claims that town council conduct had become “nasty and bad-tempered”.
The Chronicle reported last month how a meeting of Biddulph Town Council became mired in controversy after counci-llors and members of the public claimed the discussion of that night’s issues was overshadowed by “vitriol” and “school playground behaviour”.
Town mayor Coun Jim Davies responded to the claims in a statement he made at the following council meeting last Tuesday, when he said that the authority “should be valued”.
