Pockets of land could be turned into ‘green oases’
Biddulph’s “maint-ained but underutilised” green spaces could be given a new lease of life after an application to fund new “pocket parks” in the town was approved.
If the funding is granted, the pocket parks could include a new area of wetland and an orchard in Biddulph West, with town councillors expr-essing their support for the idea.
In October, the ministry of housing, communities and local government made £1.35m available for its pocket parks scheme, which funds renovations of small green spaces that can have a positive impact on the local community.
