Pressure builds on advice centre as UC rollout nears
Biddulph’s welfare advice office is preparing for an increased demand in advice in the run-up to the introduction of universal credit.
The Citizens Advice Bureau in Biddulph has revealed that in the last year more than 800 people used the service, with almost half of them having concerns about welfare benefits.
Forty-eight per cent of those who contacted the Biddulph branch were also listed as disabled or suffering from long-term health conditions.
