Shopper raps ‘brutal’ store parking regime
An elderly Gillow Heath woman has criticised the “brutal” and “intimidating” car parking system at the Congleton branch of Morrisons after claiming she was wrongly issued with a fine for visiting the supermarket twice on the same day.
Mary Elmhirst, (74), of Long Valley Road, said she received the fine in early February, but had the charge waived by Euro Carparks after providing evidence of purchases made elsewhere.
Miss Elmhirst claimed that she visited the Congleton store in the morning, before leaving and returning later that day, which allegedly caused the car park’s monitoring system to issue a charge after incorrectly stating that her car had been parked outside the supermarket all day.
