Swarm weather brings 10,000 bees to shops
Shoppers on Biddulph high street were given a fright at the weekend when a swarm of bees descended on the town.
Pedestrians were forced to take cover inside shops as the swarm filled the air at around 2pm on Sunday afternoon.
Luckily for the public, a member of staff at one of the shops braved the congregating bees to pour sugar water on one of the metal posts by the side of the road. The caused the flying insects to stay put until a beekeeper arrived to bring the situation under control.
