‘Torturous’ neighbourhood plan process moves forward
Biddulph’s neighbo-urhood plan has been approved for submission to the district council, despite the process so far being described as “like walking through treacle”.
Town councillors approved the draft version of the plan at their annual meeting last Tuesday. It will now be submitted to Staffordshire Moorlands District Council for screening.
The plan’s progress marks a significant step in a “torturous, hard going” process that started in 2015. The neighbourhood plan aims to give the council and community of Biddulph more control and influence over the planning in the town.
