Tyre firm boss ‘sickened’ after ‘lads’ start fire
The owner of a Biddulph garage was left feeling “sickened” after “three lads” allegedly started a fire, which caused thous-
ands of pounds worth of damage.
Police are investigating the blaze at Saxon Tyres on Wharf Road, which destroyed a container full of scrap tyres, as well as the surrounding signage, plants and waste disposal bin.
The garage’s owner, David Lovatt, said he had had to hire skips in which to put the debris, but was grateful the flames did not spread to the main building and cause further damage.
