416 runners on their marks for 36th Congleton Half Marathon

A “fantastic” morning was had by all at the 36th Congleton Half Marathon on Sunday morning.
After early downpours, the sky cleared a bit and the race was started by Congleton mayor, Coun Sally Ann Holland, with 416 runners starting their half marathon journey around the local villages and hamlets of Somerford Booths, Marton, Lower Withington, Kermincham and Swettenham.
The cooler, damp conditions were appre-ciated by the runners and by all accounts helped a fair few to new personal bests on the challenging, undulating course.
