Acting council chief is tipped for post full-time
Cheshire East Council has distanced itself from claims that the current acting chief executive, Kath O’Dwyer, has been recommended for the position on a permanent basis.
The announcement was inadvertently made by Coun John Wray at November’s meeting of Brereton Parish Council and was subsequently included in minutes of the meeting seen by the Chronicle.
The minutes of the meeting state that Coun Wray “reported that the chief executive substantive post at Cheshire East Council has now been confirmed for Kath O’Dwyer.”
Appointments to the role of chief executive must go through the Staffing Committee, which held interviews with the shortlisted candidates on 11th November.
