Burglar alarm silenced after 4 days
A burglar alarm that rang out for 90 hours caused “disturbance and sleep deprivation” to the residents of a Congleton street this week.
Cheshire East Council “would not take responsibility” for the noise pollution caused on Holmes Chapel Road, said one resident, as the alarm sounded from 11pm on Wednesday to 5pm on Sunday.
Geoff Baggott, a former Congleton town and Cheshire East councillor, lives on Birch Road; his property backs onto 55, Holmes Chapel Road where the disturbance occurred, a property that has reportedly been empty for some time.
