Congleton Pride – campaign launch to hold a parade
Calls for a pride parade in Congleton could see the town flying the rainbow flag in support of the LGBT+ movement, with the idea already having gained support from one town council and other groups.
The idea was launched by Congleton Town Labour Party’s branch secretary, Richard Walton, who was approached by a family friend about having an event in Congleton following the success of Macclesfield Pride.
Mr Walton said: “I think it’s for a really good cause, after a very successful event in Macclesfield.
“I put it on social media to see if there would be support in the wider community and I was amazed by the response so far.
