‘Downright dangerous’ road a reason homes plan refused
Campaigners against a housing development in Congleton’s countryside have won their battle, after councillors unanimously voted down the plans.
Gladman Developments wanted to build 98 homes on land south of Waggs Road.
But Cheshire East Council received 288 letters of objection against the plans, while Congleton Town Council, the Protect Congleton Civic Society and Fiona Bruce MP also stood against the scheme, (writes local democracy reporter Stephen Topping).
