Feline old? Tips for geriatric cats

As cats get older, their bodies begin to change. This can happen quite quickly so it is important that owners familiarise themselves with the signs as there is help available to help your cat through their senior years.
Cats age a lot faster than humans. A one-year-old cat is equivalent to a 15-year-old human, a two-year-old cat is equivalent to a 21-year-old human and a three-year-old cat is equivalent to a 25-year-old human. After that, every cat year is equivalent to four human years. Cats aged over 10 tend to be classed as senior.
There are a number of common problems affecting senior cats:
Kidney disease
Many senior cats develop kidney disease.
