Fine and ban for drug-driver
A Leek man who drug-drove at Bosley has been fined and banned.
Daniel James Goodwin, (40), of 30, Ashenhurst Way, admitted driving a Volkswagen Golf on the A523 on 28th March with a level of 7mcgms of delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol per litre of blood, the legal limit being 2mcgms.
THC is the active ingredient in cannabis.
Greater Manchester Magistrates’ Court, sitting at Stockport Magistrates’ Court on 2nd July, fined him £120 and disqualified him from driving for 12 months. Disqualification is obligatory for the offence.
He was ordered to pay £85 costs to the Crown Prosecution Service and a £30 surcharge to fund victim services.
