‘Friendly’ gardeners’ role in establishing Jodrell Bank

In a year when Jodrell Bank was declared a Unesco World Heritage Site and celebrated its role 50 years ago in tracking Apollo 11’s historic moon landing mission, Chronicle reader Ruth Moston has been remembering the local people who helped Sir Bernard Lovell establish his landmark space observatory in the Cheshire countryside back in 1945.        
Her father-in-law was the late Ted Moston, a local farmer in Lower Withington.
