Funds for cenotaph work well short of £100k target
An appeal has been made to members of the public to help fund the long-awaited redev-elopment of the cenotaph in Congleton.
Mike Smith from the Congleton Partnership, the organisation behind the war memorial’s redev-elopment, said he would “welcome more support from members of the public” in helping to fund the project.
Mr Smith also told the Chronicle that the start date for building work will be 21st April next year. The work is expected to take 13 weeks to complete. A dedication service has been pencilled in to take place in September 2020.
