Late licence approved for cricket club
Congleton Cricket Club will now be allowed to serve alcohol and play live music until later into the evening after having a licensing application granted subject to conditions.
The club originally requested a licence to serve alcohol until 2.30am on Fridays and Saturdays, but after consultation with the police agreed to close at 1am on these days, and 12.30am on Sundays to Thursdays.
The application included the request to play live and recorded music outdoors, but the club agreed to meet Cheshire East’s Public Protection and Health Officer’s recommendations, which state that music should be restricted to the function room, playing from 6pm to 12.30am on Fridays and Saturdays and noon to midnight on Sundays.
