Lib Dems back party’s pledge to scrap Brexit
Local Lib Dem representatives have thrown their support behind the party’s pledge to cancel Brexit if it wins the next general election.
Members voted for the new policy at their party conference in Bournemo-uth by an overwhelming majority on Sunday.
The Lib Dems have previously campaigned for a second referendum, or “People’s Vote”, but have now taken a firmer stance by pledging to scrap Brexit altogether.
Congleton town councillor Paul Duffy, recently announced as the Lib Dem candidate for the Congleton constituency at the next general election, believed his party’s stance displayed a “clear objective”.
