Mayor on attack over council’s cycling strategy
Cheshire East Coun-cil has hit back at claims by Congleton’s mayor that it’s not doing all it can to promote cycling.
Coun Suzie Akers Smith said housing developers “don’t care about Congleton as a community” because some cycling lanes, bridleways and paths had not been installed despite being outlined in plans approved by the authority.
However, Cheshire East defended its commitment to support cycling and other sustainable transport in Congleton.
