Narrow boat sank within seconds at Bosley Locks

A lock-keeper has described a couple’s frantic efforts to save their narrow boat, which sank in 20 seconds after it became stuck in a lock. 
It happened at Bosley Locks on the Macclesfield Canal last Thursday when the vessel ended up lodged on the lock gate’s metalwork as the water was rising, forcing the stern underwater.
