Plan to turn Congleton carbon neutral by 2025
Campaigners took the fight for carbon neutrality to Congleton on Thursday, as volunteers were recruited from the town hall to tackle the “deeply layered and very complicated” issue.
Couns Jean Parry, Suzy Firkin, Martin Amies and Mark Rogan all put their names forward to do what they could on a town council level to support the borough council’s decision to go “carbon neutral” by 2025.
Chair of Congleton Sustainability Group, Peter Aston, addressed the councillors during Thursday’s meeting.
He said: “Congleton Sustainability Group has existed for 10 years. We have a track record in the town of achievement.
