Report into complaints made about councillors
Twenty-nine alleged breaches of councillors’ code of conduct have been identified within the Cheshire East authority and the borough’s town and parish councils since September 2018.
Local councils are required to have a code of conduct, which sets out the standards expected of elected members when-ever they act in their official capacity. The code allows any allegations to be investigated at a local level.
Between 1st September 2018 and 28th February this year, there were seven complaints made against councillors, which identified 29 apparent code breaches.
