Scrum half dodges points on licence
A professional rugby player has escaped a licence endorsement for driving with no insurance, after saying he thought his agent had sorted it out.
Jonathan David Wilkin, of 5, Church Cottages, Holmes Chapel Road, Chelford, admitted driving a Land Rover on Knutsford Road, Chelford on 29th August 2017.
He was fined £1,246 but had no endorsement, citing special reasons. He said his agent had dealt with all his household and vehicle insurance for many years and he held “an honest and genuine belief” that he had insurance on the Freelander.
