‘Shocked and humbled’ on becoming an MBE

A man awarded an MBE for improvements to palliative care treatment at East Cheshire Hospice said he was “shocked and humbled” when he found out he was in the Queen’s birthday honours.
Robert Barrow DL, (69), of Marton, only stepped down as chairman of the hospice this year, having been diagnosed with cancer of the oesophagus two years ago.
