Takeaway reopens after burns incident
A Congleton takeaway has reopened after police were called to an incident in which a man suffered serious burns caused by hot oil.
The takeaway was forced to close as police cordoned off the area to investigate further.
The cordon has now been removed, but a police investigation into the incident is still ongoing.
However, no arrests have been made so far.
The Beijing City Chinese takeaway on Mill Street was closed last Sunday and Monday after a 55-year-old chef attended Congleton War Memorial Hospital on Sunday evening with hot oil burns, but reopened on the Tuesday.
The chef was then taken by ambulance to Wythenshawe Hospital, where he still remains in a serious condition.
