Third senior officer quits Cheshire East
The last of Cheshire East Council’s suspended officers, chief operating officer Peter Bates, has “decided to leave” his employment with effect from 8th April.
Mr Bates was one of the three senior offices suspended from duty — the others have been former chief executive Mike Suarez and monitoring officer Bill Norman — and the last to leave. No explanation has ever been offered by Cheshire East and following Mr Bates’ departure it commented: “As a matter of policy, Cheshire East Council does not comment on individual staffing matters.”
